Elizabeth Gray has been quietly running CommonAct Press for
seven years and was instrumental in developing our Environmental
Footprint and Ancient Forest Friendly policies.

Beth feels proud to be able to send good books out into the world,
knowing they help make communities better places to live, particularly
when it improves the lives of those whose voices have been diminished.
She is happiest when her work reflects, or at least does not contradict,
her Indigenous values. A non-status, urban, Mi'kmaq mother and
activist, she may well be the only woman of Aboriginal ancestry running
a publishing company in Canada. If you know of another, please let us
know. Maybe they could get together, have some tea, and share
stories.
Current Favourite Quote:

Another world is not only possible, she is on her way.
On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.
